Headroom is all about making room for your head

We all need some time to sit and think, to clear away the clutter of our minds and rest from our eternal inner chatter. That's why we came up with Headroom – making room for your head.

Headroom was originally created by two close friends and enthusiastic proponents of emotional wellbeing, Jocasta Webb and Amanda Burgess, but is now being taken forward by Jocasta alone. The objective is to improve people’s day-to-day emotional experiences by providing a mindful space to enable a ’slowing down’ from relentless internal chatter – it's fundamental to develop positive habits of mind such as mindfulness in children and young people, to aid them in their navigation of the world and to become happier and more self-aware and fulfilled adults.

Jocasta is a qualified and experienced trauma specialist psychotherapist and has spent much of her career working with children, young people and adults who have experienced trauma. As well as her psychotherapeutic work, she teaches mindfulness to children and young people and runs wellbeing workshops for young people and adults. She has worked in schools, residential homes, family centres and private practice, both face to face and virtually.

Headroom began in the small Essex town of Coggeshall and is currently based in Manningtree. Services are currently provided across Essex and London, but the aim is to ensure there's room for heads across the country... and further afield.
